Coronavirus Statement

BALLEE BAPTIST CHURCH – SUSPENSION OF CHURCH SERVICES

After much prayer and consideration, and taking into account the information available to us, the Elders with heavy hearts have taken the decision to suspend all scheduled services with immediate effect.

Christians are commanded in Scripture to obey the civil authorities the Lord has placed over us. Current guidelines are that we are to avoid any unnecessary social contact and it was stated specifically in Parliament that includes religious gatherings.

While this emergency lasts Sunday services will be broadcast via livestreaming on Sermonaudio and Facebook at 11:30am and 6:30pm. These services can be accessed via Facebook, Sermonaudio or via the church website www.balleebaptist.org and clicking on the Sermonaudio link. They can also be accessed afterwards again on the church website www.balleebaptist.org. There will also be a Bible Study (audio only) uploaded to SermonAudio on Tuesday evenings at 8:00pm, again available also through the church website.

If you do not have access to the internet for live broadcasts then please advise one of the Elders, or contact the Church Secretary, and we will arrange for CDs to be delivered to you.

The church will seek to provide support for our vulnerable members so If anyone has to isolate or is unable to get out to collect prescriptions and requires assistance please contact the Church Secretary email: secretary@balleebaptist.org and we will endeavour to help.

As a family now is the time to rally round in support of one another. We cannot visit but we can use the telephone to keep in touch and to encourage one another.

Please pray one for another and also for those in the frontline in the NHS and emergency services remembering that we have a number of our church family who work in the medical, fire and police services.

Pray also for our nation and our community that God would be gracious to us and not only bring this epidemic to an end but also use this emergency to draw people to Himself.

Sunday Morning Worship

Sundays at 11:30 am

Each Sunday morning we have Morning Worship.  This service has a traditional feel and includes a mix of hymn singing, prayers, children's address and teaching from God's Word.  Pastor Kennedy is normally the speaker, but from time to time it's a visiting speaker.

Normally Pastor Kennedy undertakes a series on Sunday mornings.  Our current series is entitled Hope In A Hopeless World.

This service is followed by our Breaking of Bread service where we meet at the Lord's Table to remember his death upon the cross for our sins.

This study is on The Life of Samuel entitled Samuel, The King Maker

The final study in this series will be on Tuesday 4th August. After this we will have a break until September.

Wednesdays 8:00 PM

Prayer Meetings

We will meet together in the church (socially distanced) on Wednesday 5th August at 8:00pm for our fellowship prayer meeting. This will be repeated on Wednesday 12th and 19th August.

We are mindful of those who have been enjoying the Zoom prayer meetings and who will be unable to join us in the church, so on the last Wednesday evening of the month (26th August) we will not meet at the church but will instead have a Zoom prayer meeting.  If you would like to join this, you should contact Trevor Gillan. Members who are signed up for member texts will receive the meeting details by text and will not need to contact Trevor.

During this time, please pray one for another and also for those in the frontline in the NHS and emergency services remembering that we have a number of our church family who work in the medical, fire and police services.

Pray also for our nation and our community that God would be gracious to us and not only bring this epidemic to an end but also use this emergency to draw people to Himself.

Our Mission

A Place for Worship

The primary reason we meet together is to focus our attention on God, giving Him our worship and receiving His blessing and inspiration. Each of these occasions is a special time of spiritual refreshment. We hope this is what you desire also.

A Place for Learning

To us, studying the Bible is vital because it not only instructs us intellectually, but also guides us spiritually. We believe it and accept it as God's Word to us, a Book that is alive and relevant to life today. Learning its truths is a thrilling adventure.

A Place for Enrichment

For every person at every age level we offer a wealth of opportunities - special programs and ministries for children, youth and adults which fill the church calendar. You can be sure that in this centre of activities there's more that one place where you can be personally enriched.

A Place for Friendship

Nothing quite compares to the joy of Christian friendship. That's why we make it a priority to build lasting bonds between the members of our church family - bonds of concern and genuine commitment to one another. Best of all, this circle of care is ever widening. We'd love for it to include you, too.

A Place for Service

Just as Jesus Christ came "not to be ministered unto, but to minister..." we accept our responsibility to reach out in service to others. This applies both within the church family and outside our fellowship. We look forward to serving you, and we hope to see you soon.

What We Believe

The complete acceptance of the following Doctrines of Faith is expected from all who become members.

  • The verbal inspiration, and the all and sole-sufficiency of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as originally given.

  • The Trinity in unity of the God-Head.

  • The Essential Deity and Perfect Humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • The Personality of the Holy Spirit.

  • The Personal Election to Salvation.

  • The depraved and fallen state of man through sin.

  • The Substitutionary Sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • The Justification of the sinner through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • The personality of the Devil.

  • The immortality of the soul.

  • The personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • The resurrection of the body.

  • The eternal security of the believer.

  • The conscious eternal punishment of those who die impenitent.

  • The priesthood of all believers.

  • The binding character of the ordinances of the Lord's Supper.

  • The baptism of believers and the responsibility of all saved souls to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present age.

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.

Psalm 122:1
