|Where am I? ... activities > sunday school|
|My name is Noel Bell and God has given me the privilege of serving Him in ministry to children and young people. I had been involved in the Sunday School at Ballee as a teacher for a number of years and in 2000 I was given the added responsibility as superintendent of Sunday School and Bible Classes. As a leader I have realised through my experience that it is important to be consistent in your walk with Christ as “many eyes” are on you at all times. It is my personal desire to encourage the children and young people and instill Christian values in their lives. I appreciate 1 Timothy 4 v 12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.|
In this work I am supported by a willing team of teachers/leaders who are born again Christians and who pray and prepare each week to bring the word to God to the Children and young people under their careful supervision.
In our Sunday School and Bible Classes, Gods Word – The Bible remains central to all the teaching. Classes commence at 10.15am each Sunday. We have Sunday School classes from preschool which is one year before going to Year 1 up to Year 7. We sing choruses and occasionally have an “open Sunday School” which can be a varied programme .In these classes we use “Go Teach” material as our curriculum and this gives the children the opportunity to review the lessons being taught and complete the activities in these workbooks at home.
From Year 8 upwards we have Bible classes where we follow a curriculum which aims to cover a large portion of the entire Bible over a 4 year period. Memorisation of scripture is encouraged in all classes.
Throughout the year we have the younger children take part in Carol Services at Christmas and Youth Sunday in June when the season finishes until September. We have a Sunday School trip and we often take part in projects which allow us to show the Love of Christ to others.
We welcome Children and young people of all ages and I am always happy to answer any question you may have about this particular area of the work at Ballee Baptist Church.
