Profile: Jill had the privilege of being brought up in a Christian family, and at the age of 5 put her trust in the Lord Jesus to be her Saviour. It was not until the age of 27 that Stewart came to know the Lord Jesus as his Saviour. We began teaching Sunday School at Ballee Baptist and supporting the Faith Mission in our local area.
In the year 2000 at the Faith Mission Convention in Bangor God challenged both of us as we sang the words of the hymn “Where He leads me I will follow”. Then in 2003 the Lord started to bring The Faith Mission in Canada before us (in particular a Camp Centre in British Columbia) and we felt God ask us to leave home and serve Him in Canada. Subsequently in September 2005 we went to study at The Faith Mission Bible College (Edinburgh) with our two children, Ellen who was born in March 2000 and Sarah who was born in April 2002. We arrived in Canada in August 2007 and began to work with the mission at a Camp Centre in Ontario, our third daughter Ruth was born in Canada in October 2008.
The
year 2010 brought change in our lives again as the burden for British
Columbia never left us. In March we moved to the province of B.C. and
continue our work with the Faith Mission at the Camp
Centre here. The centre is a wonderful tool which the Lord has
blessed the Mission with. It sits on 40 acres of land and sleeps approx
100 people. Throughout the year the centre is used for children’s
camps, both summer and winter ones, also many retreats are held for men,
ladies, seniors, marriage etc. There is a convention weekend and
Christmas outreach banquets. Alongside this other churches and Christian
families can make use of the centre for their work also. In all that
takes place here God’s word is faithfully taught to young and old
alike, to see souls saved and the Christian encouraged in their walk
with God.
And
Jesus saith unto them, Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.
